Taxus media ‘Farmen’ – Japanese Yew Farmen (Wild variety: Japan)
Habit: Compact, symmetrical, broadly bushy normal shrub, 1-2m tall, 2-3 m wide with densely congested branches and twigs, slow-growing.
Leaves: Short, radially arranged needles, initially fresh green, gradually turning dark green.
Root system: Flat or cordate roots, dense and intensive.
Demands: Sun to semi-shade, losing its characteristic, compact habit in shade; tolerates warmth, frost hardy (more hardy than T. baccata); good for urban areas, wind resistant.
Soil: Fresh to moist; any garden soil.
