Philadelphus inodorus grandiflorus (eastern North America)
Habit: Broadly upright to arching large shrub, 3-5 m tall and 2-3 m wide; fast-growing.
Flowers: Shimmering white, individual flowers have no scent, occasionally in groups, 3-5 cm large, end of May to June; generally flowering a few days before P. coronarius.
Leaves: Pointedly ovoid, dull dark green.
Demands: Not demanding, robust.
Hardiness: Zone 5a
