Magnolia liliiflora ‘Susan’
(= Magnolia stellata ‘Susan’)
Habit: Compact, medium to large shrub, 2-3 m, sometimes 4 m tall, 2-3 m wide, dense and upright, slow-growing.
Flowers: Star-shaped, petals somewhat bend back, buds crimson-red, open flowers wine-red to light red, shortly before leaves shoot at end of April.
Demands: Sun to slight shade, warm to normal, medium to extremely high humidity.
Soil: Fresh to moist, acidic or somewhat alkaline; any well-drained, humic or sandy-loamy substrates.
