Daphne mezereum alba
Habit: Small shrub up to 1.2 m tall, 1 m wide, stiffly upright, short twigs, very slow-growing.
Flowers: Plentiful along twig tips, bright white, before leaves shoot; March to April, very fragrant.
Fruits: Round, pea-size, yellow from June on, very poisonous.
Leaves: Lanceolate, dark green, green underneath, pale yellow in autumn.
Roots: Deep roots.
Demands: Shady, likes cool areas, avoids warmth, frost hardy, high humidity.
Soil: Dry to fresh; moderately acidic to alkaline, prefers humic loam.
