Cornus kousa chinensis (China)
Habit: Shrub or small tree, some 5-8 m tall and 4-5 m wide; somewhat taller when old and wider than the Japanese variety, moderately growing.
Flowers: Notable bracts, bright white or soft pink, larger than the species and broadly pointed, flowering into June, roughly a week after the normal variety.
Leaves: Splendid scarlet autumn colour, two weeks later than the normal variety, mid to end of October.
Note: When all four flowering types are planted in a group, the flowers last from May to July.
