(hybrid: C. integrifolia x C. ‘Jackmanii’)
Habit: Like a perennial and semi-shrub, slightly fan like climber; woody at the base; 1.2-1.5 m tall when free-standing, on trellises upt o 2 m tall, very loose.
Flowers: In clusters, flatly extended, 7-10 cm in diameter, deep indigo-blue; mid-June to beginning of August.
Leaves: Simple, not pinnate, petioles not climbing; dark green, ovoid, pale yellow in autumn.
Demands: Sunny to shady, likes heat, moderately frost hardy.
Soil: Fresh to moist, slightly acidic to moderately alkaline, in nutritious, somewhat well drained substrates.
Our tip: The unique, conspicuous hue is especially nice near Heliopsis or similar yellow-flower perennials.
