Habit: Loose tufts, extensive spreading in suitable locations.
Size: Clumps of leaves 20 cm, stems up to 40 cm.
Flowers: Heart-shaped delicate spikes, appealing, hanging on upright stems, May to July.
Leaves: Winter green, bright green to glaucous.
Demands: Sun; modest, tolerates drought, frost hardy.
Soil: Slightly moist, slightly acidic to neutral, low-nutrient, sandy.
