Berberis hybrido-gagnepainii (China)
Habit: Small shrub, 0.8 to 1.5 m tall, 1 to 2 m wide; arching and loose; arching, 10-15 cm a year, slow-growing.
Flowers: Yellow, May to June.
Fruits: Ovoid; blue-black, unpalatable.
Leaves: Evergreen, lanceolate, dark green on top, bluish green underneath; margins slightly wavy, some thorns.
Demands: Partially sunny to lightly shady; tolerates heat, warm to cool, moderately frost hardy, needs high humidity.
Soil: Slightly dry to fresh; acidic to alkaline, all well drained substrates.
Hardiness: Zone 6b
