Aralia elata ‘Variegata’
Habit: Small tree or large shrub with several stems but few twigs, 3-4 (5) m tall, 2-3 m wide; initially upright, later loosely umbrella-shaped, slow-growing.
Flowers: White, feathery inflorescences like umbels, August to September.
Leaves: Some 50-70 cm large, doubly pinnate; yellowish white margins; otherwise grey-green; lateral leaflets ovoid; orange or yellow in autumn.
Demands: Sun, better in shade; warm to normal; leaves turn yellow in full sun and heat; otherwise like A. elata.
Hardiness: Zone 6a
