Acer neglectum ‘Annae’ (= A. zoeschense ‘Annae’)
Habit: Small or medium-size tree, (6) 8-12 m tall, 6-10 m wide; short stems and round crown, dense foliage; slow-growing, 20-30 cm a year.
Leaves: Five-lobed, leathery, shoots strong dark red; later olive to dark green, only red in the veins and petioles; golden yellow autumn colours.
Roots: Shallow, not far-reaching.
Demands: Sun to semi-shade, tolerates heat very well, frost hardy; overall very adaptable and robust; wind resistant, good for urban areas.
Soil: Dry to moist, prefers well drained, sandy loam, tolerates high chalk content.
